When we have some understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of foreign trade procurement, how can we use the Internet to search for suppliers we need? There is no doubt that the Internet is a very worthwhile tool to use. Here are some of our suggestions:
Exhibitions
Find potential suppliers by attending trade shows and exhibitions. These activities will let you know the types of suppliers, products and services, and give you the opportunity to interact with suppliers directly.
Google Search
Search and compare the products, prices, delivery methods, time and quality of multiple suppliers on the Internet. When you look for suppliers online, be sure to check their history and customer feedback to determine whether they are trustworthy.
Local organizations or governments
Look for some legitimate buyer organizations and government agencies, such as international chambers of commerce, trade associations, customs and industrial and commercial departments. These organizations usually have lists or directories of suppliers, which can help you find more reliable suppliers.
Referrals
Get in touch with existing customers or merchants in the same industry to learn about their supplier sources and recommendations. Finding suppliers through people in the same industry or other customers with established relationships is a relatively reliable method.
Video conferences
Face-to-face meetings are one of the best methods because you can communicate directly with suppliers and understand their working methods and production processes. Before the negotiation, provide them with sufficient information and clear requirements for comparison and evaluation.
Certificates and qualifications
Look for suppliers with certifications or qualifications, such as ISO certification, CE marking, ROHS marking, etc. These certifications and qualifications can prove that the supplier’s products and services meet international standards and regulations, and can also prove that they have good production processes and service quality.
Contract
Finally, the most important thing is to sign a clear contract that stipulates the quality, quantity, price, payment method, delivery period and guarantee of the product. This can ensure the rights and responsibilities of both parties and reduce risks.
